چکیده

Abstract Hypersonic boundary layer transition is a hot yet challenging problem restricting the development and breakthrough of hypersonic aerodynamics. In recent years, despite great progress made by wind tunnel experiment, mechanism prediction, only partial knowledge has been gained so far. this paper, firstly, specific scenarios control are clarified. Secondly, experimental research passive active methods under different demands summarized, with their advantages disadvantages being analyzed separately. Plasma actuation easy to produce controllable broadband aerodynamic actuation, which potential in field control. Hence, following part paper focuses on plasma flow The feasibility demonstrated ideas presented. Finally, summarized direction future prospected.

Boundary Layer Control for Hypersonic Airbreathing Vehicles

Active and passive methods for tripping hypersonic boundary layers have been examined in NASA Langley Research Center wind tunnels using a Hyper-X model. This investigation assessed several concepts for forcing transition, including passive discrete roughness elements and active mass addition (or blowing), in the 20-Inch Mach 6 Air and the 31-Inch Mach 10 Air Tunnels. Heat transfer distribution...

Passive Control of Hypersonic Boundary-Layer Transition using Regular Porous Coating

Passive control of hypersonic boundary-layer transition using porous coatings has been studied by theoretical analyses, experiments, and numerical simulations. It was found that porous coating stabilizes Mack’s second mode and destabilizes Mack’s first mode. However, there are only few studies on the stabilization efficiency of porous coating. And no work has been reported about the thermochemi...

Influence on the Hypersonic Boundary-Layer Flow

For aerospace or hypersonic cruise vehicle the state of the boundary layer is of great importance because for turbulent boundary layers, the thermal loads and skin friction are higher than in laminar boundary layers. Therefore , knowledge of cooling features and laminar-turbulent transition is necessary for the design of the thermal protection system (TPS). Different strategies are used to redu...

High-Order Finite-Difference Schemes for Numerical Simulation of Hypersonic Boundary-Layer Transition

Direct numerical simulation (DNS) has become a powerful tool in studying fundamental phenomena of laminar-turbulent transition of high-speed boundary layers. Previous DNS studies of supersonic and hypersonic boundary layer transition have been limited to perfect-gas flow over flat-plate boundary layers without shock waves. For hypersonic boundary layers over realistic blunt bodies, DNS studies ...
